We are currently operating a hybrid arrangement of in-person and

Our team is growing over recent years and we are recruiting for an
experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our Grants, Donor Care and
Impact function to provide leadership and ensure excellent donor care
is at the heart of what we do. The central function of the Donor Care
team is to ensure high-quality philanthropic advice, grant-making
services and to effective communications to our donors, which include
families and individuals, Trusts and Foundations and corporate
organisations.
This is a diverse and dynamic role, offering the opportunity to lead a
team of dedicated professionals and ensure each donor to the Community
Foundation for Ireland is stewarded to the highest possible standard
and supported to maximise their philanthropic giving. It is a unique
opportunity to play a key role in developing philanthropy in Ireland,
learning and networking across the community and voluntary sector in
Ireland.
THE PHILANTHROPY MANAGER WILL PLAY A PIVOTAL ROLE IN LEADING THIS WORK
AND THEIR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
STRATEGIC INPUT
* Play key role in enacting the organisation?s overall Strategy
with a focus on excellence in Donor Care
* Enhance and implement overall Donor Care framework for the
organisation
* Be informed of best practice in donor care and philanthropy in
Ireland and internationally
* Support the development of internal policies as required
* Prepare management reports on key issues as required
* Contribute annually to the preparation of The Community Foundation
for Ireland budget process
* Ensure impact is at the forefront of our thinking and communicated
effectively to donors
DONOR CARE & PHILANTROPHY
* Working closely with the Head of Grants, Donor Care & Impact,
oversee management of donor advised funds and CFI donors to ensure
excellent donor care and philanthropic impact are to the fore
* Contribute to the development of grant-making plans and strategies
for donor funds
* Management of key donor funds and fund stakeholder relationships
* Responsibility for meeting team targets to maintain and grow
existing funds
* Working closely with the wider team to ensure grant-making is
carried out effectively and that donors are informed of opportunities
to create social impact
* Working closely with Communications team to ensure high quality
donor communications and key outputs
* Developing donor education and stewardship programmes
* Work closely with the Development team in implementing the donor
care framework, allocating new accounts and building strong
relationships with donors spanning grantmaking and fund development
objectives
* Organising and supporting events and visits which showcase our
work and impact and encourage donors to invest.
TEAM MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
* Line Management of a team of Grants and Donor Care Executives
* Recruitment and training of new staff for this team as required
* Support team to ensure coordination of activities and approaches
* Monitor team progress against targets and take necessary steps to
manage and support staff to ensure objectives are achieved
* Provide ongoing coaching, support and on the job training
* Support staff in identifying their personal and learning and
development needs
* Linking with HR in relationship to practices and processes and
wider strategy

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
The ideal candidate will have:
* Prior experience in a people management role
* At least 3 years donor care and/or high-value relationship
management experience
* High standards in customer care and attention to detail in a busy
environment
* Experience of philanthropy and the charity sector in Ireland and
challenges and opportunities in progressing greater equality and
social change in Ireland
* Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication
and presentation skills
* High levels of proficiency in the application of Salesforce or
similar CRM system
* Excellent data management and analytical skills
* An ability to multitask and prioritise
